Choice & the Lyric Body
 

Panelists of diverse backgrounds will engage in a craft-based discussion about how the choice to be childfree informs our art, including what it took to be “successful” at our craft. If choice is a spectrum, how do we write past stereotypes about people without children without stigmatizing other reproductive choices? We will share multigenre work, along with craft tips about tone, the lyric “I,” and how to challenge stock narratives of caregiving to include communal and ecological stewardship.
